Why is it needed:
It is a medical fact that many of the discomforts of pregnancy are caused by improper posture. Hormonal secretions during pregnancy cause joints to slacken ( to facilitate birth ), thereby making it difficult to maintain proper posture without help. Other changes include vaginal pressure, hip separation, blood pressure on varicosity's etc. Many of these pains can be relieved, resulting in more energy, less fatigue and increased feeling of well being. Our garment works because of the design and the fabric. The triangular fabric which is joined in the middle above the crotch is the most important part of the garment, when the end tabs are attached to the stretch Velcro on the back it lifts and cradles the fetus in the womb while distributing the weight around the body. The extra strain and burden are eased while providing a firm support to the back. The following materials were used in the Natal Support garments: Cotton for absorbency and comfort, Polyester for strength and quick drying, Lycra for more controlled stretch, Velcro for a quick way to adjust (also gives back support) and Knit Fabric for more stretch than woven fabric. There is more stretch in the width and more stretch on the bias.
